Ahead of E3, and what’ll surely be quite a bit of footage, Ubisoft has released a very short teaser for Watch Dogs 2.
They’ve already confirmed that the game will be at their show, and this trailer confirms some of the previous leaks. It looks like they’ve decided to ditch the painfully boring Aiden Pearce, the gruff, brooding guy from the original. This new guy could be boring too – that’s Ubisoft’s problem to solve – but at least he’s different, so we have a fresh chance to see something interesting.
The trailer is entitled Hello World, which is a common “first creation” program that programmers will write when they’re learning a new language or working on new hardware.
That’s about all we know right now, but it’s a start. We’ll have a better idea soon if Ubisoft can do like they did with Assassin’s Creed II, turning a boring game with potential into one of the best games of the generation, or whether Watch Dogs is doomed to be relegated to “coulda been” status.
Ubisoft’s E3 conference starts at 1 p.m. PST on Monday, June 13.
