Here’s the list of Chromebooks getting Android app support this fall

This fall, Chromebooks will become 1 million times more useful when Google adds Android app support. Unfortunately, not all Chromebooks will support the feature when it becomes available.

Following the surprise announcement last week, Google released a list of Chromebooks that will gain support for Android apps. Chances are your Chromebook—including the millions that are being used for education—is among the lengthy list. However, the earliest of adopters, including those who purchased the 2013 Chromebook Pixel, are out of luck.

It’s important for Google’s list to be long so that the feature rolls out to as many people as possible. It would make no sense if only last year’s Chromebook Pixel, which is one of the more expensive Chromebooks on the market, exclusively supported the feature. With extensive support, it will not only help drive app sales but spurn interest from onlookers.

The first three Chromebooks to support Android apps this summer include the Acer Chromebook R11, Acer Chromebook Flip and Chromebook Pixel (2015). The full list gaining support later this year is below.
