Despite still being over a year out from release, we know quite a few details about Thor: Ragnarok, including the movie’s entire cast list. Now, in an interview with ETOnline, actor Mark Ruffalo has shared even more details about the film, calling it an “intergalactic buddy road movie with Banner and Thor.”
Ruffalo’s comments pretty much confirm the general plot of the film and seems to corroborate rumors we’ve heard about it following the Planet Hulk storyline.
Apparently, following Hulk’s disappearance in Age of Ultron, he will show up in space where he is eventually fixed with an obedience disk and forced to fight gladiator battles for the amusement of the Red King.
Meanwhile, Thor will allegedly be banished from Asgard and wind up on the same planet as Hulk. Here, the two duke it out until Thor destroys Hulk’s obedience disk, thus setting in motion their intergalactic road trip. What remains unclear is if Ruffalo’s Hulk will take on more of his Banner personality, which happens in the comic; this gave him the body and abilities of Hulk but the mentality of Bruce Banner.
Whatever occurs, Ruffalo says audiences should anticipate seeing much more of the Hulk.
“I think it will be smashing,” Ruffalo said. “The Hulk gets Hulk-ier. The Hulk Hulks out. Hulk-ier and bigger.”
As for other components of the film, Ruffalo said Cate Blanchett’s Hela, who is appointed the Goddess of Death in the comics, is “the worst of the worst. “So evil,” Ruffalo teased.
Other confirmed actors include Jeff Goldblum, Tom Hiddleston, Karl Urban, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson and Sir Anthony Hopkins. I know people are stoked for Spider-Man: Homecoming but Ragnarok sounds like it’s going to be quite the movie.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on Nov. 3, 2017.
