There are a lot of exciting movies coming out this summer, including Warcraft, Independence Day: Resurgence and Suicide Squad, but if you’re not up for going to the theater, staying in will still provide plenty of entertainment. In addition to plenty of original content, Netflix’s deal with Disney will also take effect, making it the exclusive U.S. pay-TV home partner for films from Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar.
Kicking off the summer for Netflix will be a new Adam Sandler movie called The Do-Over, which doesn’t look half-bad. It’ll be the second Sandler movie as part of a four-title deal with Netflix, which started off with The Ridiculous Six. I know, it’s a preposterous deal and Adam Sandler is long past his prime, but Netflix said the film had been viewed more times in 30 days than any other movie in the service’s history.
There is plenty of other content hitting the service between June and August, too. Note that this isn’t a comprehensive list of all the content coming to the service, rather a look at some of the exclusive movies and TV shows Netflix is going to begin offering during the summer months. Obviously, the highlight is the fact that Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar films will be available through the service although they won’t be available until September.
