Samsung Galaxy Note Edge finally gets Marshmallow in Europe

Samsung has finally brought its latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to Galaxy Note Edge handsets in Europe. The release weighs in at 1.5GB, and it’s almost identical to the Marshmallow upgrade made for the Galaxy Note 4.

In addition to the many improvements Samsung has made to its own TouchWiz UI, users can look forward to Google’s latest Android security update for May in this release, which comes with build number N915FYXXU1DPE1, according to SamMobile.

You can also look forward to all the features you would expect to see in a Marshmallow upgrade, including Doze for better battery life, Google Now on Tap for instant access to useful information anywhere, and the easier to use app permissions system.

As you might expect, this update is rolling out to factory unlocked versions of the Note Edge first, while those that are locked to a carrier will need to await their approval. However, it shouldn’t be too long before the release reaches everyone.

If you have an unlocked Note Edge, you should get an update notification when this release is available for your device. You can also search for it manually by opening up the Settings app, going into “About device,” then choosing “Software update.”
