Overwatch goes live the day before official release in America

Overwatch is set to launch next week, and it has a global launch of May 24. You’ll be able to play it a day early if you live in America, though, because here in the United States, we live in the past. By, like, a few hours.

Blizzard’s new multiplayer shooter launches at the same time everywhere it’ll be playable, and Blizzard has revealed just when that’ll be. As it goes live at breakfast time in South Korea at 8:00 a.m., players on the east coast of the United States will be finishing up dinner at 7:00 p.m. the day before, just in time to sit down and play a few post-meal matches.

So, if you’re reading this from somewhere like Australia, Japan, or France: Sorry, you have to wait until May 24 to play Overwatch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Over here in the western hemisphere, we’ll be playing the evening of May 23.
