Developers complain iPad Pro won’t register properly

Earlier this week we covered a story suggesting that the iOS 9.3.2 software update was causing some iPad Pro 9.7 units to “brick.” Apple is still investigating that issue, but, it turns out, there’s another problem affecting the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. This time developers need to pay attention.

AppleInsider recently spotted a thread in the Apple support forums where owners of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro are complaining that they aren’t able to register the device in Apple’s developer portal.

“I am trying to test out an application I made on an iPad Pro 9.7,” one user explained. “I try to register its UDID in my developer account and I get the issue below. I do not have this issue for any of my other iDevices. Can anyone replciate this?” The alert simply says “an unexpected error has occurred. Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact Apple Developer Program Support.”

The problem appears to exist on devices running iOS 9.3.2 and iOS 9.3.1, so the recent update doesn’t appear to be the issue. Some users have suggested it might be Apple’s back-end systems. Thankfully, it doesn’t appear to be too widespread, with only 13 replies in the past 3 days.
