Samsung is expected to pack tons of high-end hardware into the Galaxy Note 6, but what about the software that goes with it? A new report from SamMobile details some of the exciting new S Pen features allegedly coming to Samsung’s next major smartphone.
One of the Galaxy Note 6’s best new software features may be an expansion of “Off screen memo,” which was introduced with the Note 5 and lets you scribble a quick note even when the device’s screen is still locked. A future update would apparently make it possible to expand these notes by scrolling down, leaving more space to record your thoughts.
Another big change could be an easy option for securing S Note with your fingerprint. Samsung already offers similar security options, but the Galaxy Note 6 could put those settings right in the S Note app for even quicker access. Other possible features include the ability to import notes from other apps and a recycling bin for retrieving notes you deleted.
The Galaxy Note 6 is expected to launch this summer, with an official unveiling rumored for mid-August. These new S Pen features might not be available out of the box, but they should arrive by the end of the year.
