Rumor: Resident Evil 7 to be revealed at E3, takes it back to “horror roots”

Full-scale offensive,” indeed. Capcom is teasing big news for Resident Evil’s 30th anniversary this year, and I’m not nearly convinced that Umbrella Corps and the Resident Evil 2 remake are enough to make up for its wording. As I said, nothing can be “full-scale” without Resident Evil 7, and new rumors are swirling about the game popping up at E3 this year.

This latest rumor comes from Dr. Serkan Toto, CEO of Tokyo-based games industry consultancy Kantan Games. He has broken several huge rumors in the past, and he is at least viable enough to make people pay attention.

He further expands on his knowledge of the game, saying it is a “clean slate” that takes the series back to its “horror roots.” His closes out with news that Capcom picked up Jordan Amaro to help with the design of the game. Amaro recently worked on both  Metal Gear Solid V and P.T. while at Kojima Productions.

E3 2016 is only a few weeks away, so we’l find out then if all this comes true.
