Google Allo – the crazy-smart chat app – features end-to-end encryption

Google announced Google Allo on Wednesday, an amazing new chat application that’s incredibly smart. It’s also incredibly secure, Google said, noting that it will feature an incognito mode that has self-destructing messages and, even better, complete end-to-end encryption.

This is important, especially in an age where we’re all worried about prying eyes. It will also help Google compete with massive existing apps including WhatsApp that also feature end-to-end-encryption. Good to know!

Google hasn’t yet said when Allo will roll out, though we presume it will come out rather soon. Keep it locked on the site for additional news out of Google I/O 2016.
