BlackBerry Hamburg specs reveal mid-range Android handset

BlackBerry is expected to release a duo of Android devices later this year, one of which has broken cover in a GFXBench benchmark test.

As the benchmarks show, the device will come running Android 6.0.1 out of the box, along with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen, Snapdragon 615 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera. No word on battery, but we’d expect it to be somewhere in the 3,000mAh range.

According to renders we saw earlier in the year, the BlackBerry Hamburg is expected to look like the BlackBerry Z30, which means it’ll be an all-touch candy bar phone without a physical keyboard. For a lot of BlackBerry fans, the Priv was charming because it had a slide-out keyboard, which was functional beyond just typing; it could also be used as a trackpad and for gestures.

It’s unclear when the Hamburg is going to launch, but seeing as it’s being tested, it shouldn’t be long until we hear something from BlackBerry.
