Star Wars: Rogue One leak reveals new characters, vehicles and more

Note that there are spoilers about character names.

So far Disney has only shown off one teaser trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, introducing audiences to a handful of the movie’s characters. However, according to a leaked visual story guide for the film, many more major characters will be part of the core group that attempts to steal the Death Star plans, including a new droid named K-250.

There’s even confirmation of a very familiar face (more on that below).

The main money shot, as it were, includes the entire group who are apparently tasked by Mon Mothma to steal the Death Star plans, led by the “reckless and aggressive” Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). Below are all of the major characters revealed to be part of the group, along with other big name characters showing up.

  • Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones)
  • Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)
  • Baze (Jiang Wen)
  • K-250 (not confirmed, but expected to be Alan Tudyk)
  • Bodhi (Riz Ahmed)
  • Pao (Unknown)
  • Chirrut (Donnie Yen)
  • Bistan (Unknown)
  • Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)

According to the story guide, Pao and Bistan are both alien creatures who are part of the team, while Director Krennic is director of the Imperial Army.

In addition to Jyn Erso’s crew, the leaked document also reveals two new vehicles: the U-Wing and the TIE Striker. There’s also a page dedicated to Director Krennic’s personal entourage of Imperial killers, including a description of Death Troopers, whom we briefly saw in the teaser (below).

Finally, a few of the pages have Darth Vader iconography, suggesting the infamous character will indeed have a presence in the film. How much he’ll feature is unclear, but it looks like he will indeed make an appearance at some point.

While the visual guide reveals quite a bit that the trailer has not, we still don’t know the name of Mads Mikkelsen’s character, though earlier reports suggested he’d play the role of Galen, a scientist who helps create the Death Star (and also Jyn Erso’s dad). We also don’t see Forest Whitaker’s character, who we saw in the trailer.

You can check out the full guide above; the pages say they’re not final, so take that into consideration. We’ll be going through the documents with a fine-toothed comb to see what other big details we can glean from the pages. Spot anything of importance?
