If you need to schedule time off to make sure you don’t miss all the E3 press conferences next month, here’s one more for the list. Sony has announced their show will take place at 6PM PT on Monday, June 13.
Like Microsoft, Sony is keeping things pretty quiet, but we can make some pretty educated guesses about what we’ll see at the show. PlayStation VR is a guarantee, as it’s going to be one of the big pushes this fall. The still-unconfirmed PlayStation 4 Neo, the upgraded PlayStation 4, if real, could be there. The PlayStation Vita will probably get an honorable mention at most, unless Drinkbox Studios already has another game ready for it.
For software, we’ll almost certainly be seeing Horizon Zero Dawn. I’d expect some sign of Gran Turismo at this point, and, if we’re lucky, we might get an update on the Final Fantasy VII remake. With No Man’s Sky coming out days after E3, there’ll certainly be some mention of it, even if just to remind everyone that it still exists. Whether we’ll hear about The Last Guardian is a total dice roll, and it’s not a bet I want to lose. There will be, of course, tons of PlayStation VR software as well.
With just the PlayStation VR stuff, we should be in for a huge show from Team PlayStation, and I can’t wait to hear more about Horizon.
E3 2016 kicks off on Tuesday, June 14 and goes through Thursday, June 16.
