Niantic Labs and The Pokémon Company are slowly rolling Pokémon GO‘s field test out to new regions of the world. They are now taking sign ups for the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.

What is the field test? Think of it like a closed beta, basically. Here’s what the dev team writes.

We would love for you to – if selected – download the field test version and play it. Your regular gameplay and feedback will help us iterate, polish and make the game launch-ready.

Please note: the app is still in active development, so it has a limited set of features at the moment and there may be things that don’t work properly. We hope that you – as field testers – understand this and will work with us to make the Pokémon GO game experience truly phenomenal.

Signing up is easy, though you will need a Gmail account. You can access the Pokémon GO signup page at the link in the source section below.

I’ve heard mixed things about this game so far from those who have played it. Have you heard the same?
