Samsung’s “Active” smartphones have always focused on brawn over beauty, but the Galaxy S7 Active could push that approach to its limits. A new leaked image of the rumored device shows a tacky gold version of the rugged handset.

This Galaxy S7 Active features a textured gold design surrounded by a thick rubber bumper. Even the physical buttons flanking the fingerprint scanner get a bit of extra texture. That could be useful if your hands are wet and you need some extra grip, but it’s also pretty ugly.
Based on earlier leaks, Samsung may also offer a green color option with a design inspired by military camouflage. This version of the Galaxy S7 Active looks a lot nicer, but it’s still nowhere near as sleek as the regular Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
The Galaxy S7 Active is expected to feature military-grade MIL-STD-810 rating, making for a super durable device. It could also pack a 5.5-inch display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
If you don’t care much about design but need a phone that can take a beating, this is the device for you. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S7 Active pretty soon, and we just hope the other color options look better than this gold model.
