Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster sells 800,000 copies, Capcom seems pleased

According to Capcom, the last two Resident Evil HD remasters have successfully done their jobs in keeping interest in the series moderately high while managing to sell a respectable amount of copies as well.

Tucked away in the company’s financial reports, the most recent Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster sold 800,000 copies since it launched earlier this year, and Capcom seems pleased with the figure.

In terms of these HD remasters of catalog titles,last fiscal year“Resident Evil 0 HD remaster” performed favorably with approximately 800 thousand units sold, and additionally we released “Resident Evil 6”for PS4 and Xbox One. This year marks the twentieth anniversary of the “Resident Evil”franchise; we plan to release PS4 and Xbox One versions of “Resident Evil 4” and “5”, and what‟s more, we are currently working on a full remake of “Resident Evil 2

In the same time frame, the previous Resident Evil Remaster, the one of the GameCube remake of the PlayStation original, sold 1 million copies.

Capcom most recently stated that it plans a “full-scale offensive” with the series in hopes to get it up and running at full throttle again. Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps and a Resident Evil 2 Remake are in the works to help Capcom achieve that goal.
