Earlier this month we learned that the OnePlus 3 could feature insanely fast charging thanks to some new technology from Oppo. Now a fresh leak reveals more info on the Chinese company’s VOOC Charging.
Press renders of Oppo’s upcoming Find 9 smartphone (via GizmoChina) offer some details on the technology. The alleged advertisement notes that the device can get a full charge in just 15 minutes. The company adds that this is five times faster that “conventional chargers.”
Oppo previously said the 15-minute charge time applied to a 2500mAh battery. So it should take a little longer to power up most flagship phones. Even so, it could be significantly faster than competing fast-charging technology.
The OnePlus 3 is also expected to pack a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 820 chip, a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The company could also offer a cheaper model with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage for about $310.
The OnePlus 3 is rumored to debut later this month before launching this spring. As for the Oppo Find 9, it’s expected to arrive in June and pack a similar lineup of flagship hardware, though it’s unclear when (or if) that device will arrive in the U.S.
