Last month, Google expanded its self-driving car project into Arizona to test the technology in extreme desert conditions. Now the company is hiringĀ “vehicle safety specialists” to help out.

A recent job listing reveals that Google will pay $20 per hour for people willing to test its self-driving cars. The positions are available through 12-month and 24-month contracts with six to eight-hour work days five days per week. The “drivers” need to be willing to travel for up to a month at a time, suggesting these tests won’t be limited to Arizona.

It sounds like the job mostly consists of riding in one of Google’s autonomous cars and monitoring the software. Employees will also provide feedback to the company’s engineers. The listing claims they’ll “develop a unique set of operational skills” along the way.

Other requirements include a clean driving history, a college bachelor’s degree, no criminal history and the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. If you’re interested, you can apply via the source link below.
