Captain America: Civil War villain dons familiar mask in new concept art

Note that there are spoilers ahead.

When Daniel Brühl was cast as Zemo in Captain America: Civil War, many assumed the actor would don the menacing hood he wears in the comics. As audiences soon found out, however, Brühl wore no such outfit.

While we don’t have a clear answer as to why Civil War’s Zemo was dressed like any regular civilian, we at least know that Marvel was entertaining the idea of dressing the character up in his familiar purple hood. And he looks mean! The concept art from Andy Park was shared on a Facebook fanpage for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

To be fair, it wouldn’t have made much sense for Zemo to dress up in his familiar comic garb, especially in context of the story. With that said, Zemo didn’t die at the end of Civil War, and actually sounded more confident than ever even though he was captured. Could he show up in a future movie wearing his comic outfit? It’s certainly a possibility.
