HTC has confirmed that it will begin rolling out its Marshmallow upgrades for the One M8 and One M9 on AT&T today. The news comes two weeks after the Taiwanese company informed users that the updates had been delayed.
“Thank you for your patience,” reads a tweet from HTC Product Manager Mo Versi. “Marshmallow OS is approved.” The update will begin making its way to One M8 and One M9 handsets connected to AT&T sometime today.
Marshmallow for the One series, which reached other U.S. carries back in February, brings a long list of improvements, optimizations, and new features. Users can look forward to things like Doze, Google Now on Tap, and Android’s new app permissions system.
HTC has also made some changes to Sense, which should improve performance and stability overall.
Note that like all big Android upgrades, Marshmallow will rollout in phases, so not all users will get it at the same time. Don’t be too concerned if you don’t see yours today, then; it should be with you soon, so be on the lookout for that update notification.
