Google just launched an amazing iPhone keyboard named Gboard

Google just launched a keyboard for iOS dubbed “Gboard.” It offers a range of features and one-tap access to Google Search, allowing users to quickly drop search results right into any conversation.

Gboard, available now for free for the iPhone, has a small Google Search icon just above the keys. When tapped, users can search for GIFs, Emoji, nearby points of interest, weather, news, sports scores and “anything else you’d search for on Google.” There’s also a “Glide” typing function, which allows you to spell out a word by moving your finger from letter to letter – it’s a feature we’ve seen plenty of times before, and one that’s native in Android.

The idea is super compelling because it alleviates a need to bounce out of one app and into another, especially if you’re just trying to search through Google. Sending an address to a coffee shop, for example, can now be performed right from your keyboard. Pretty dang cool, if you ask me.
