Gears of War: Ultimate Edition received a big update today on PC. Now that Windows 10 is no longer locking the frame rate and frame syncing of Windows Store games at the system level, Gears’ new patch will allow the game to take advantage of these features.
Once the game is patched, you’ll be able to turn off V-sync and decide whether or not to limit the frame rate, something that previously was not possible thanks to limitations of the Universal Windows Platform. The update also adds more filtering settings and an FPS counter.
The beta for Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is said to be getting this feature soon as well, and Quantum Break should already sport it following last week’s 27 gigabyte patch. No word yet on Rise of the Tomb Raider.
