Xiaomi’s rumored drone has reportedly been in development for more than a year. Now the Chinese company could finally be ready to take flight with the “Mi Drone” apparently set to launch later this month.

CEO Lei Jun revealed that the Xiaomi drone will make its debut in the next few weeks, according to AndroidHeadlines. The report also notes that the drone could come from a third-party manufacturer partnering with Xiaomi. It’s expected to sport a built-in camera and cost about $100.

That’s a pretty great deal for a drone, but it also means you’ll likely be getting a relatively low-end product. By comparison, Chinese drone-maker DJI charges more than $1,000 for its latest model, which packs a powerful camera and is capable of following you around automatically.

We should know more when the new device arrives later this month, but for now Xiaomi’s drone sound like a great choice for first-time hobbyists.
