Titanfall 2 confirmed to drop this fall on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Titanfall 2

Tucked away in its financial reports, among many other announcements, EA has just committed itself to releasing Titanfall 2 in the Q3 fiscal quarter. In layman’s terms, this means you’ll be able to play Respawn Entertainment’s sequel in the fall.

While the release window of a AAA shooter during the holiday season is a pretty standard choice, it begs to wonder if EA plans on competing with itself. Battlefield 1 was recently confirmed for a release on Oct. 21 on all the same platforms, and their Q3 windows will see the releases within a month of each other. EA must be fairly confident in both titles selling well enough to not cannibalize the other’s figures.

During his investor call, EA CEO Andrew Wilson avoided the question, stating that Titanfall 2 would be “a giant category in our industry.” If it came down to the wire though, which of the two major franchises would you pick up from EA? Battlefield 1 or Titanfall 2?

Titanfall 2 launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this coming fall.
