Big unlocked HTC 10 update rolling out in U.S. with camera changes

by Todd Haselton | May 10, 2016

The unlocked HTC 10 sold in the U.S. is getting a major software update today. Software version 1.53.617.5 includes several changes in addition to Android’s May security patch. Users who download the update should find the following changes:

  • Camera performance enhancement
  • WiFi stability enhancement
  • System stability improvement

The HTC 10 camera is already pretty good, but this software update may help it improve just a hair, giving it the software tweaks it needs to take on the Galaxy S7 camera which, we feel, is superior in many ways. The WiFi stability and system stability enhancements should be appreciated, too. Owners of the unlocked HTC 10 can find the update by visiting the settings menu on their smartphone.
