Last week we got a look at the Galaxy S7 Active when some hands-on photos leaked out. Now we’re learning what kind of hardware the device will offer thanks to a recent benchmark. This sounds like the type of phone that’s going to be perfect for the rough and rowdy out there who spend time in the mud – the mountain bikers, construction workers and off-roaders.
The GFXBench listing reveals a long list of specs for the rumored rugged smartphone. The device allegedly offers a 5.5-inch display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
With a flat 5.5-inch display, the Galaxy S7 Active could be a good option for anyone who prefers a big screen like the one on the Galaxy S7 Edge but doesn’t want the curved edges that go with it. The device also features a rugged design with rubber bumpers and three physical home buttons. It may even boast a military-grade MIL-STD-810 rating, making for an extremely durable high-end handset.
We still don’t know when the Galaxy S7 Active is set to launch, but at this rate it could be right around the corner. The Active series is typically offered as an AT&T exclusive in the U.S., and we expect Samsung’s latest model to hit the carrier pretty soon.
