EA says they’ll support the Nintendo NX “if it makes sense” for them

If you ask most gamers and industry types about the major problems plaguing Nintendo, one that’s likely to come up is that the company is lacking support from third party game publishers.

One such publisher would be EA, makers of games like Battlefield and Mass Effect.

Speaking with the BBC, Patrick Söderlund, Executive Vice President at EA Studios, explained that EA is definitely interested in whatever Nintendo’s making with their upcoming NX.

“I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo, they’re the reason why I started making games…We’re in constant communication with them and when they come to market something – and if it makes sense for us – we’ll be there.”

Which, hey, makes sense. It’s good that EA is still interested in working with Nintendo after all that’s happened with the company, the Wii U and the third party publishers. It also makes sense that EA’s only really willing to work with the console if it fits their needs.

We’ll have more on the NX as it comes. I wouldn’t expect anything on the machine at E3 as Nintendo’s already said they’re dedicating that show to the new Zelda for the Wii U.
