We’ve been waiting on the second Witcher 3 expansion for a while now. There was rumor that Blood and Wine would hit in June, and while the general time frame seems to be right on, it looks like that date has either changed or was wrong in the first place.
Instead, it looks like it’ll hit on May 30, according to the now-removed Steam page that was up for a while. Again, the time frame fits, but this time the source is Steam instead of a random retailer, giving it a bit more credence. The screenshot below comes via Twitter user Wario64.
The expansion looks to significantly brighten the color palette of the game it expands upon. While The Witcher 3‘s main area fit very much into the stereotypical imagery we summon when people about medieval environments (swamps, dirty peasants, dark forests, etc.), Blood and Wine takes us to a new area, Toussaint. The area seems much brighter and, if the first screenshots are anything to go by, more fantastical.
If the Steam page that went up was right, the Blood and Wine expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt hits on May 30.
