After a long and absurd announcement video which fixated for uncomfortable amounts of time on Tokyo Tower, Atlus finally got around to confirming the long-anticipated release date for its upcoming JRPG Persona 5.
Sept. 15, people! Mark your calendars! Atlus will release the game in Japan on Sept. 15 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. We can assume that it won’t be far behind in the English speaking world as well.
In addition to the release date, Atlus also showed off a new trailer with a host of new characters, new villains, and a whole lot of ideas and that iconic thievery style that has dominated the game since day 1.
We’ll keep an eye out for a North American release date, but the big question now remains “Can you beat Persona 5 in the 15 days before you have to start up Final Fantasy XV?” Oh man, Sept. 2016 is the biggest month in over a decade for the JRPG genre, and I absolutely can’t wait.
