Apple App Store experiencing major search outages

The Apple App Store is currently broken. Users and multiple news outlets are reporting that it has become difficult if not impossible to properly search for some applications, including popular ones. The apps are indeed properly listed in the store, just not easily found, according to The Loop. The problem also appears to extend beyond the iOS app store and into the Mac App Store and iTunes as well.

As you can see in this image, Apple’s Status page confirms the App Store is “not working as expected for all users.”

Apple experiences outages from time to time, and they’re often fixed quickly. This one, however, appears to have been an issue since at least 2:00 a.m. Pacific time, according to MacRumors. Apple told the site that it is “investigating and will update the status as more information becomes available.”

We’ll let you know if there’s a major change to this story or if an explanation is given. Just rest assured you’re not alone, and expect that Apple will fix the issue sometime in the coming hours, as usual.
