A better reason to use Apple Pay: Rewards

Kohls announced Wednesday that it is the first retailer to support Apple Pay with a credit card and a purchase-based rewards system.

Customers who shop in Kohls locations in the United States will now be able to use a Kohls charge card while also earnings Yes2You rewards, all with a quick tap-and-pay of an iPhone or Apple Watch. Shoppers who are¬†interested in partaking in the program simply need to add their Yes2You Rewards account inside the Wallet app on an iPhone. Then, when they decide to check out, they’ll earn rewards points without even having to take out a separate card – everything will just happen automatically in the background.

This is the sort of system Apple dreamed up when it launched its Wallet application. Several retailers have already signed on for support, including Dunkin Donuts, MyPanera and Walgreens. JCPenney’s charge card is already supported by Apple Pay, so it seems plausible that rewards for that retailer may come in the future, too.

Kohls said the option is already available in 250 locations in the U.S. and will arrive in every store later this month.
