Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will skip the PS3 and 360

Console gamers hanging on to the last generation of platforms will have to look elsewhere if they hope to play the next Call of Duty. In a first for the franchise since debuting on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will only sell on the current generation of consoles and the PC.

Infinity Ward’s official Twitter account brought the news in a reply to a fan.

Simple, right?

More recently, the 360 and PS3 versions of the Call of Duty games were ported by separate studios. Last year’s Black Ops III, for instance, was ported to the previous generation by Beenox and Mercenary Technology. It was a stripped down version of the game made for modern machines by Treyarch.

Are you one of the pack still holding on to your 360 or PS3 for Call of Duty? Will you upgrade?
