Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End arrives next week, and it will bring its hotly anticipated story mode along with a multiplayer that Naughty Dog hopes will excite the PlayStation faithful.
Robet Cogburn, Lead Game Designer for Naughty Dog, took to the PlayStation Blog to ouline the studios philosphy for all multiplayer DLC. The good news? They’ve come up with something that gamers should like a whole heck of a lot.
First and foremost, all mode and map multiplayer DLC will be free. There will be vanity and gameplay items up for purchase with real money, but all of those will be unloackable through gameplay. As Cogburn explains, “This means that the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer community won’t be fragmented by different types of DLC, and that those who are loyal in participating in the community will be rewarded.”
Here’s the multiplayer content release road map they provided in then post.
What about single player content? That’s coming, too, though we don’t get much more than a hint that it exists. When talking about the Triple Pack that’s up for sale and included in the Digital Deluxe Edition, Cogburn outlines that players will gain “future access to: The first-ever single-player story add-on for the Uncharted series.”
As for when and what? We don’t know.
Stay tuned for more Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End news.
