The OnePlus 3 is expected to pack plenty of power in an effort to outgun the competition. Now we’re getting a first look at what the new phone’s rear camera is capable of, thanks to a leaked photo making the rounds online.
The picture, which surfaced earlier this week, shows a closeup of pink flowers in striking detail. If this is an un-doctored photo, the OnePlus 3 may offer one of the best rear cameras around, at least when it comes to daylight shots. The device’s low-light capabilities could be another story entirely.
Rumor has it the OnePlus 3 will pack a 15-megapixel or 16-megapixel rear camera. Based on this new leak, it looks like the device will be capable of bokeh-style focusing and impressive color reproduction. It may offer a wide aperture too, though it’s impossible to say for sure based on a single leaked photo.
Other reported specs for the OnePlus 3 include a whopping 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5-inch 1080p display, a 7-megapixel front camera and NFC. It’s expected to arrive in the next few months, meaning it will probably run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
OnePlus came out of the gate strong back in 2014 with its original One handset, offering impressive specs for a very reasonable price. The OnePlus 2 was a solid successor. The OnePlus X pushed even further into budget-friendly territory while offering a sleek new design.
The OnePlus 3 could be the culmination of everything that came before it, offering a premium design, powerful hardware and a killer price. If the company can check all three of those boxes, it may have a monster hit on its hands.
