Super Mario Maker gets a visit from Japanese sensation Babymetal

Still don’t know what the heck a “Babymetal” is? Well, watch the above video and prepare for your life to be changed forever.

This ridiculous concept of J-Pop meets heavy metal appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert recently, and their performance rocketed the band and its new album Metal Resistance to international stardom, making it the first Japanese musical act to land on the American Billboard charts in over 40 years.

And now, Super Mario Maker is getting a special visit from them as well. As seen in the latest trailer, the three lead singers will soon be available as an alternative costume. They scream “tobe!” when jumping, translating pretty simply to “Jump” in English, and their ducking animation is kind of hilarious.

The update including Babymetal goes live today, so keep an eye out for it. Super Mario Maker is available now for the Wii U.
