Huawei is churning out flagship phones faster than we can keep up. It seems like the Chinese giant just unleashed the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus, and now speculation around the upcoming Mate 9 is already starting to pick up.
MyDrivers reports that the Huawei Mate 9 will launch later this year, citing industry analyst Pan Jiutang. He claims the device will pack a new Huawei-made Kirin 960 processor with an octa-core design. It could also double down on the company’s new dual rear camera setup, upping each lens from 12 megapixels to a pair of 20-megapixel shooters.
We don’t know much else about the phone’s hardware or design. If it’s anything like the beautiful Huawei Mate 8 (pictured in the gallery above) we definitely won’t complain. We just hope the company can work out some of the software issues that plagued that device.
If Huawei is planning another big phone reveal for 2016 we could see the device unveiled at IFA this September. The Berlin trade show is a popular venue for product announcements. Then again, the Chinese company seems to prefer holding its own standalone events.
