A reservation card for the game to be used by Target, leaked via Reddit, features a small bit of text, shown above:
“Also Includes: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.”
If you pre-order Infinite Warfare, you’ll get a copy of the original Modern Warfare’s remastered edition, if this is indeed an accurate leak. Take it as a rumor with strong potential until Activision makes an official announcement, but there’s a lot to back up the idea of this happening this year in particular.
Infinite Warfare is being developed by Infinity Ward, the same studio that created the original Modern Warfare, so releasing it this year makes sense from that perspective. And while Modern Warfare isn’t the first Call of Duty game, it’s the one that pushed the franchise from simply being profitable to being the major tent pole it is these days. It started a whole series of sequels, a style of multiplayer, and countless imitators. As Activision gets ready to release something called Infinite Warfare, going back to the beginning seems to make sense.
The card indicates that Infinite Warfare releases on November 4, so presumably Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will hit PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 4 as well.
