Is this game seriously not out yet? I feel like we’ve been teased, poked, and prodded by these brief snippets for long enough, and we should have something to show for it by now.
Luckily, the end is nearly upon us, and this could very well be the last we see of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End before I, or someone else, am able to write those two glorious words in a headline:”Launch trailer.”
It’s dawned on me how much Uncharted has become truly Hollywood. Not just in the exciting visuals, sense of adventure, and expertly crafted character models, but also in the editing. Quick jumps with the buh-buh-boom sound queues, lines obviously written specifically for a trailer, and a literal “cliffhanger” ending.
Nathan Drake wasn’t just happy about wrapping up a career of murderous treasure hunting. He was happy to be breaking free from the glitz and glam of Hollywood fame to go indie!
Man, I’m not the biggest fan of Uncharted, but I hope the guy is able to make it out of this one alive. Who knows? He may yet have to atone for the hundreds of fathers, friends, sons, and brothers he’s slain along the way in some fashion or another.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End launches for the PlayStation 4 on May 10.
