Overwatch-branded Uber truck gets into accident at PAX East

There’s one problem with painting your name all over a vehicle. When the vehicle ends up in an accident, it gets a lot of attention. Blizzard had done exactly that, covering a bunch of Uber cars in Overwatch decals for PAX East, only to arrive at the worst possible outcome.

A Ford F650 Supertruck branded after Overwatch character Soldier 76 hit the side of a car outside the PAX convention center, according to GameSpot.

Randy Pitchford, director on Gearbox’s Battleborn witnessed the event, and was fully aware of the irony of it:

No one was hurt, even if the incident did result in a bit of cringe. GameSpot notes that there were no other incidents throughout the weekend concerning the Overwatch Uber cars.

Battleborn and Overwatch are, as Pitchford notes, games competing in the same space – character-driven multiplayer shooters, and both are coming out this month.

Both are coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Battleborn hits on May 3, while Overwatch is set for May 24.
