Samsung impressed us last year at IFA with the Gear S2, and it looks like the company could follow that up with a similar Gear S3 unveiling at the Berlin trade show this September.
The Korea Herald reports that the Gear S3 will debut at IFA 2016. The article actually focuses on a “super-luxury” version of the device, which may not arrive until March 2017. The high-end model will reportedly be designed through a partnership with Swiss jeweler de Grisogono which also produced a limited edition version of the Gear S2.
“We are currently collaborating with Samsung to develop its next-generation smartwatch,” a company official told The Korea Herald, confirming that the device is already in the works.
De Grisogono’s Gear S2 features a rose gold frame covered in 100 diamonds along with a special leather band. We assume the company’s take on the upcoming Gear S3 will offer an equally luxurious design.
We don’t really know how Samsung plans to improve the Gear S2, which is already a solid smartwatch, but we should learn more as IFA draws closer and the leaks start to roll in.
