Witcher 3: Blood and Wine screens show a vibrant, dangerous world

CD Projekt Red, the developers of The Witcher series, know fans of the most recent title are excited for the second big expansion, Blood and Wine. While it doesn’t have a release date yet, the developer has provided some screenshots showing us a bit of what we can expect. New monsters and colorful environments abound, making this expansion look more and more different from the game to which it’s attached.

Here’s what CD Project Red had to say about the new screens in its press release:

“I can already tell you Blood and Wine is a fascinating story, with every sort of twist and turn you’d expect from our writers,” said the developer’s senior community manager, Marcin Momot. “Toussaint, the new realm we’re creating for the expansion, is unlike anything you’ve seen in Wild Hunt – carefree and colorful, but your gut never stops telling you there’s some real dark stuff happening underneath all that.”

Momot said the team will be revealing more about the expansion in May, so it might not be too long until we know exactly when the expansion hits.

If you’re at, or paying attention to, PAX East this weekend, you can also check out their panel, “GWENT-Ception: Does a Game Within a Game, Make a Game a Better Game?” which will air on Twitch on Saturday at 2PM EST.
