Gotta’ love rumors, they start to help us understand a bit where manufacturers are heading with their newest devices.
The latest rumor, published this morning, started to give us a better idea of what to expect from the Galaxy Note 6, which I expect will be announced sometime in late August or early September.
I’m starting to get excited, so here are the three things I’m looking forward to most.
Rumor has it Samsung is testing two versions of the Galaxy Note 6, including one with a curved display and another with a flat panel. I’m hoping it chooses the former. I bought the Galaxy S7 Edge because it has the best-looking display out there, and a larger 5.8-inch version of it would really pique my interest. I don’t actually take advantage of the edge display all that often – it’s mainly for aesthetics in my book – but I do love looking over at the clock at night.
I said it earlier this morning and I mean it. The battery is going to make or break the Galaxy Note 6, and rumor has it Samsung is going to include a fat 4,000mAh pack. That’s a huge bump over the Galaxy Note 5’s battery from last year, which only had a 3,000mAh battery. The bigger the battery, the longer we’ll be able to enjoy the dazzling rumored 5.8-inch Quad HD display and all of the content than the rumored Snapdragon 823 processor can spit out.
Can’t wait. I loved last year’s Galaxy Note 5, but 32GB of storage just isn’t enough for me. I’ll be happy if Samsung does two things with storage this year: adds a microSD card option and Android’s native adoptable storage support. The latter doesn’t seem likely since the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge don’t support the option. I’ll hold out hope, though, because Samsung has definitely been listening to customer feedback.
Will the Note 6 deliver?
Early prediction: the Galaxy Note 6 is going to pack some serious muscle. How do I know? Take a look at the previous Galaxy Note devices, the original of which pretty much invented the phablet category. They’re all packed to the gills with the latest hardware available. The Galaxy Note 3 was so appealing back […]
Samsung is still testing the Galaxy Note 6 internally, but a bunch of new details may have just leaked out. A new report from GSM Helpdesk claims to reveal most of the hardware inside the latest company’s latest prototype. The South Korean titan is apparently testing two different versions of the Galaxy Note 6, one with […]
The Galaxy Note 6 is still at least a few months away, but we may already know which accessories Samsung will offer with its next high-end smartphone. SamMobile reports that the Galaxy Note 6 is slated to get the same premium case options as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, according to some anonymous inside […]
