Because there can never be too many shows about zombies, spinoff-turned-sailing adventure Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed for a third season. The show’s second season just recently premiered on April 10.
Fear the Walking Dead has attracted good ratings since its debut last year, ranking only behind The Walking Dead. To that end, AMC said the show’s third season will consist of 16 episodes, suggesting it’ll be broken up by a mid-season break, a similar approach followed by The Walking Dead.
Set in Los Angeles, Fear the Walking Dead tells the story of a group of survivors in the beginning of the outbreak. With the show’s renewal, it means AMC will essentially have year-round zombie mania as The Walking Dead is set to return for another season later this year.
Fear the Walking Dead joins other major scripted offerings from AMC, including Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, and an upcoming show from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Preacher.
