After three weeks of jealously watching Japan get whooped by Dark Souls III from afar, North American fans finally get to have their turn. The game is available now across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and I have no doubt that the fanbase has already witnessed every bit of footage seen in this “late to the party” launch trailer.
I would probably even go so far as to say that this trailer could be called a little “spoilerish.” Not that there is any revealing story elements or drama that will ruin the whole experience, but half of the fun of Dark Souls is walking around a corner and wetting your armored undergarments at the horrific monsters that lay before you. Ruining the surprise is almost as bad as ruining the story itself.
This trailer shows off a good many bosses we haven’t seen yet, and I know a few people out there will cry for my head without some sort of warning.
Consider yourselves accounted for.
Dark Souls III is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. PC gamers should take heed in knowing that a bug has been crippling the Steam version, and Bandai Namco has yet to officially acknowledge this problem. Buy at your own risk for now.
