E3’s almost here once again, and it’s close enough now that we’re starting to get dates in place for some of the bigger events. We know, for example, that Titanfall 2 is going to get an official reveal on June 12. Now we have a time and date for Microsoft’s show.
Microsoft will, as usual, be doing their show first on Monday, June 13, beginning at 9:30 a.m. PST.
The statement from Microsoft PR says that Microsoft is “excited to return to E3 this year where we’ll showcase more games and experiences coming later in 2016 and beyond.”
We can guess at some of what they have coming – Gears of War 4 should figure heavily into the show, and a Forza announcement of some kind is expected (though, as a fan of the series I wouldn’t mind a year off). Branching out of the first part, it seems likely that Platinum’s Scalebound and Keiji Inafune’s ReCore will make an appearance. Aside from that, we don’t know much.
To equal the response to last year’s backward compatibility and Elite controller announcements, they’ve got a big hill to climb. I’m looking forward to seeing what Microsoft could possibly offer this year. With the Xbox One in a pretty distant second, the company’s hungry to pull new gamers in, so they might have some good stuff up their sleeves.
