Kindle Oasis: Here are 10 pictures of the alleged new Kindle

I love the Kindle Paperwhite. I use it almost every single night and, until now, have been looking forward to more details on what Amazon’s new Kindle might offer. CEO Jeff Bezos said last week that we should expect the new model sometime this week and, thanks to a leak from China, we might now have an idea of what to expect.

Spoiler alert: the Kindle Oasis looks ugly.

The so-called Kindle Oasis, as spotted by Liliputing, reportedly ships with an included charging-cover that the Kindle can slide right into. This aligns with earlier reports that pointed to a charging cover in addition to a solar-powered case. The design looks awkward, though, with what appears to be forward/back buttons on the right-side of the Kindle Oasis, and a contoured back panel.

Rumored specs, according to the screenshots, suggest the Kindle Oasis will offer a 300ppi LED backlit display, “several months” of battery life and three different color case color options (red, black and brown.)

No word on pricing yet – what do you think of the images?
