Sony has started rolling out its latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software for the Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, and Xperia Z3 Compact. The update includes Google’s latest Android features, and Sony’s brand new Camera 2.0.0 app.
The firmware carries the same build number (23.5.A.0.570) as recent Marshmallow betas for these devices, according to XperiaBlog, so if you’re already running that, it seems you have the final version of Marshmallow already.
If you’re not, you can look forward to getting your hands on features like Doze, Google Now on Tap, Android’s new app permissions system, and the security patch Google rolled out back in February. Sony has made a bunch of its own changes, too.
In addition to a new and improved Camera app, the company has made a series of design changes to its own user interface, and added a search option to the app drawer. Its STAMINA mode has also been removed, but Doze should make up for that.
This update will be available to download over-the-air, but it will take some time to reach all users. If you’re interested in flashing it manually, you can download the firmware from XperiaBlog by following the source link below.
