Russian site Hi-Tech Mail.ru published a hands-on report shortly after the unveiling, featuring the P9 Lite alongside the standard P9 and P9 Plus. The low-end variant appears to be missing that second rear camera. Otherwise, it’s pretty similar to the flagship version.
The P9 Lite allegedly features a single 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel shooter in front. It also sports a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 3000mAh battery, 16GB of expandable storage and a fingerprint scanner in back. It may come in two different models with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
Overall the P9 Lite sounds like a solid device if you’re looking to pay less and don’t care about fancy dual-lens cameras. It’s unclear when Huawei plans to officially unveil the device, but if it really is launching we should learn more pretty soon.
