Ahead of this month’s multiplayer beta, Gears of War 4 developer The Coalition has announced their upcoming game’s release date: October 11.
We would’ve expected this announcement to come out of Microsoft’s E3 show this summer, but putting it ahead of the multiplayer beta to hype that makes sense, too.
The beta itself starts on April 18 for anyone who played Gears of War Ultimate on either Xbox One or Windows 10, though the game is only coming to Xbox One currently. On April 25, all Xbox Live Gold members can participate.
Earlier this year, Gears of War 4 was moved up from its “holiday” release, rescheduled for release this fall. I’ve been concerned with how far along they could be based on what they’ve shown, but if they have a hard date, that suggests they’re pretty confident with what they have so far. The beta should help demonstrate as much one way or the other.
