Mass Effect: Andromeda gameplay leaks, features jetpack

Mass Effect Andromeda

A small sampling of gameplay has leaked from BioWare giving us the first look at Mass Effect: Andromeda’s concepts in motion.

The full footage, as shared by All Games Delta and seen below, shows a few brief snippets from the upcoming hit. Commander “Not Shepard” has a brief confrontation with a crew of Krogans, but it goes south when one pulls out a deadly pollen that sends him hacking and coughing to the floor. Trust me dude, I know how you feel this time of year. Ugh.

The footage then jumps into the new jetpack feature, which we were first introduced to in 2015 during EA’s E3 presentation, and closes out with a sample of a meteorite explosion.

While the footage is authentic, it is also very old, as stated in the leak.

If this is the Frostbite 3 engine, and I have no idea if it is, throwing its power behind the franchise for the first time, it doesn’t look like that much of an improvement over the previous generation’s use of Unreal Engine 3. Chances are that these are just concepts that have been given an overhaul in the years that BioWare has had to work on it.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Q1 2017, being pushed back after a recent delay. Other recent leaks deliver details on the game’s plot.
